Twin turbo V12 flagship LWB luxury sedan with very low ks and full history
KEY FACTS
When the superb W220 S-Class was released in 1998 it was the flagship in luxury sedans from Mercedes Benz. The S600 was the top spec model of the S-Class less the AMG range and would be fitted from factory with a V12 power-plant. 2003 saw an update for the W220 and the V12 was updated from the previous N/A 5.8-litre M137 V12 to an incredible 5.5-litre M275 twin turbo V12 which produced 368kw of power, easily pushing this LWB sedan to 100kph in only 4.3 seconds and incredible feat for its time and size. Like all S600’s the interior was heavily trimmed and optioned, peaking what could be known as luxury additions in a vehicle of its time.
This W220 S600 Twin Turbo V12 is a rare find, particularly in Australia, and even rarer given the low kilometres travelled and full service books. This S600 has been in dry indoor storage since 2022 in a private collection and the car appears to have remained in the Canberra region since new with all services carried out in Canberra by either Mercedes directly or Mercedes specialists. The books show a story as to how little the car has been driven throughout the years with little kilometres travelled between services.
As expected the car is packed with premium luxuries for its day including Bi-Xenon headlights, headlight washers, metallic paint, front and rear parking sensors, power sunroof, double glaze windows, polished 18″ alloy wheels, soft close doors, adjustable and heated rear seats, automated rear sunshade, Alpaca grey leather interior, Alcantara roof lining and pillars, woodgrain trim, heated and air conditioned deluxe power front seats with memory, power windows and mirrors, multi function steering wheel, cruise control, dual zone climate control, adjustable height air suspension, ABC suspension, Alpine aftermarket head unit, Bose sound system and much more.
Overall this example is very well presented and shows little signs for its age, with the paint and interior showing how clearly the car has been heavily garaged. This is an ideal example of the flagship LWB luxury sedan and without a doubt a modern and powerful collectors car.
