KEY FACTS
In 1998 the C43 AMG was introduced as the new flagship model of the C-Class range, and would mark the first Mercedes built AMG vehicle after its acquisition in 1998. This would also mark the first time a V8 was fitted to a C-Class vehicle which in later models would see the C55 AMG and then famed C63 AMG. Powered by a tuned version of the 4.3-litre M113 V8, the C43 produced an impressive 225kw at 410nm of torque which pushed the refined saloon from 0-100 in a mere 5.7 seconds. Only 4,300 of the W202 C43 AMG’s would ever be produced internationally, making these comfortable and refined performance saloon’s a rare, desirable and iconic underappreciated modern classic.
